The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Multiengine Instructor (MEI) is a rating placed on a flight instructor certificate. The multiengine rating adds privileges to the current flight instructor certificate to teach students to fly multiengine aircrafts. Candidates must must hold either a commercial pilot certificate or airline transport pilot certificate. Candidates must meet experience requirements. Candidates must pass a practical exam.
