MedCA©s Phlebotomy Technician Certification shows the prospective employer and all stakeholders that the individual has met MedCA©s requirements to be certified and passed the MedCA Certification exam. Phlebotomy Technicians primarily draw blood for laboratory testing, as well as for blood donations, transfusions, and research, in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, laboratories, private practices and blood donation centers. It is the responsibility of the Phlebotomy Technician to know the laws and policies concerning a Phlebotomy Technician's scope of practice in the state and facility in which they work.
