The American Association of Endodontist sponsors the American Board of Endodontics, the national Board responsible for certifying endodontists. Board certification requires successful completion of the Written, Case History Portfolio and Oral Examinations. Endodontists who achieve Board certification are known as Diplomates of the ABE.
