The ASE School Bus Technician Test Series includes seven certification exams: Body Systems and Special Equipment (S1), Diesel Engines (S2), Drive Train (S3), Brakes (S4), Suspension and Steering (S5), Electrical/Electronic Systems (S6), and Air Conditioning Systems and Controls (S7). While several of these tests parallel existing ASE Medium/Heavy Truck tests, each one is designed to test knowledge of systems that are specific to school buses. The School Bus test series is available in Paper/Pencil test format only. The tests are offered every May and November at over 700 test centers nationwide.

ASE testing is available year-round. Whether you register on the first day of a registration window or the last, you will always have 90 days from the original date of purchase to schedule an appointment and take your test at any of our several hundred test centers across the country.

Specialty

The certification corresponds to a specialty within a recognized occupation. For example, Oncology Nurse and Pediatric Nurse are specialties within the nursing field, so Certified Oncology Nurse and Certified Pediatric Nurse would be classified as specialty certifications.
