The National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO), Overhead Crane Operator certification provides validation of the skills and knowledge needed to safely operate a crane. Overhead crane operators must demonstrate a thorough understanding of factors relating to the pre-operation activities, work requirements, load handling, technical functions, shutdown and securing of the crane. There are no prerequisites for this certification. Candidates must pass a practical exam and a written exam.
