License: Cosmetology Instructor

Cosmetology Instructors provide instructions to students in the basic theory of cosmetology and its related branches. In addition, they provide students with the practical knowledge required in the fundamentals of sanitation, hygiene, sales, professional ethics, basic science, and safety precautions. The courses an instructor is eligible to teach are dependent upon which license to practice the instructor holds.The instructor training curriculum is designed as a course to extend over a period of not less than four (4) months and not less than six-hundred (600) hours of training. (1) Be licensed as a cosmetologist, manicurist, aesthetician or electrologist in the State of Arkansas, Must be at least 21 years of age. 2. Must have completed four years of high school or its equivalent. 3. Must be licensed in the field you wish to teach as a Cosmetologist, Manicurist, Esthetician or Electrologist. 4. Must be a graduate of a 600-hour training course from an approved school of cosmetology. 5. Electrologist Instructor applicants must have three years of practical experience as an electrologist in the state of Arkansas within the past five years. Must take a practical eximantion administered by a Licensed school of Cosmetology in Arkansas(Not to exceed $65.00) and a national written examination ($60.00)
