To receive a Barber Instructor License, an applicant must first have attained the equivalent of a high school diploma. Beyond high school, an applicant must have attended a licensed barber college with 1 year of instruction completed, OR have completed 60 semester hours in an approved course with 6 months of instruction in barbering. Finally, a theory exam administered by PSI Services, LLC must be passed, and a license application with $20.00 fee submitted to the Department of Licensing and Regulatory affairs. The annual renewal fee is $40.00.
