To receive a Lead Abatement Supervisor certification, an applicant must first have at least 1 year of experience as a certified Abatement Worker or at least 2 years of experience in a related field. Additionally, an applicant must take and pass an approved lead training course. After meeting these requirements, a Certified Lead Professional application should be submitted to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services along with the initial fee ($125 to $150). Finally, the state exam must be taken within 6 months of successfully passing the training course.
