AERIAL APPLICATOR<br><br>An aerial applicator engages in the application by aircraft of any substance or mixture of substances or chemicals intended for defoliating or desiccating plants, or for preventing, destroying, repelling, or mitigating any insects, rodents, fungi, bacteria, weeds or other forms of plant or animal life declared a pest by the Commissioner of Agriculture. An aerial applicators can use, buy or sell restricted pesticides only if licensed and certified by the Commissioner of Agriculture. <br><br>REQUIREMENTS: <br>Approval by the Commissioner of Agriculture as having the necessary technical qualifications and of the ability and intent to operate within applicable state and federal laws. Must have and adequate liability insurance coverage and satisfy examination requirements. <br><br>EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS: <br>Examinations are administered by the Department of Agriculture. Separate category examinations are required for certification to use, buy or sell restricted pesticides in a category. The examination must be taken every three years if the required number of continuing education units are not accrued to maintain the certification. <br><br>RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS: <br>Contact the licensing authority for information. <br><br>CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: <br>Separate category examinations are required for certification to use, buy or sell restricted pesticides in a category.
