License: Registered Certified Dental Assistant
Assists the dentist in providing care directly to the patient. Specific duties are based upon their education, experience and the employing dentist. Certified dental assistants are certified by the Dental Assisting National Board. They may perform all the duties for which they have received training, except as limited by statute. A traditional dental assistant who has already obtained radiology privileges may register as a certified dental assistant upon successfully completing the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) examination.
