License: VETERINARY TECHNICIAN

A veterinary technician is a person certified by the Veterinary Examining Board to work under the direct supervision of a licensed veterinarian. In the performance of delegated veterinary acts, a veterinary technician shall accept only those acts for which: there are mutually approved protocols, written standing orders or verbal directions; he/she is competent to perform based on education, training or experience; and he/she has consulted with a veterinarian in cases where he/she knows or should know a delegated veterinary act may harm a patient.
