Professional Cost Estimator/Analyst (PCEA®) - the PCEA® certification is an apprentice-level certification, intended for those new to cost-related professions. Two years of experience in cost, budgeting, finance, accounting, or other related fields is required to qualify. Applicants must then pass Part I of the certification exam. After passing, your PCEA® is valid for 3 years and renewable only by retaking the exam.

Online Exam; Third Party Exam Center

The PCEA and CCEA exams are administered online using our provided link and virtual AI proctoring system. If you are unable to take the exam online for technical or other reasons, you may request an in-person, pen-and-paper, offline exam with an approved proctor for a 20% surcharge applied to the exam fees to cover shipping, printing, and other coordination.

  1. The certification does not have a minimum education level or has an education level below a two-year Associates of Arts or Associates of Sciences degree and the certification does not have a minimum requirement for work experience or requires two or less years of work experience.
  2. The certification has an education level of an Associates of Arts or Associates of Sciences degree or higher, but has a work experience requirement of less than 2 years of work experience.
  3. The certification has a work experience requirement of more than 2 years but does not require a two-year Associates of Arts or Associates of Sciences degree.
