The Association of Boards of Certification (ABC), Wastewater Treatment Operator - Class IV validates the competency of professionals working with wastewater. Wastewater treatment Operators - Class IV have skills and knowledge of evaluating physical characteristics of waste streams, performing security, safety, and administrative procedures, evaluating and maintaining equipment, operating equipment, monitoring, evaluating, and adjusting treatment processes, and laboratory analysis. Candidates must meet education and experience requirements and pass an exam. In addition, candidates who are currently certified by another equivalent certification program and have taken and passed the certification exam may qualify for certification through reciprocity.
