The National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO), Lift Director-Tower Cranes (TLD) certification is for lift directors who have been trained and/or have extensive knowledge gained from experience in the crane industry. NCCCO certification is designed to assure both industry and the general public that employees working with load handling equipment are skilled and knowledgeable. TLD candidates must meet age, substance abuse and ethics requirements and pass four written exams.

  3. The certification has a work experience requirement of more than 2 years but does not require a two-year Associates of Arts or Associates of Sciences degree.
