+-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Under the general direction of the Engineering Division. this | | position staff with various land development and capital facility | | planning activities, including but not limited to: GIS data | | management, map and plan creation, engineering plan review, GIS | | software end user support, and GIS maintenance. This position will | | focus on supporting Public Works and engineering operations within | | Springville City. The successful applicant will gain valuable | | experience in GIS, site and subdivision design, city planning, | | utility design, and public works operations. Candidates with | | experience in, and a high level of energy and enthusiasm for this | | type of work will be given preference. $15.00 per hour. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Conducts data collection efforts and editing GIS datasets. | | | | Updates and maintains enterprise geodatabases. | | | | Assists with publishing GIS data to the internet, maintenance of GIS | | server, and developing and configuring web based GIS applications. | | | | Responsible for aggregating documents and data for the City's asset | | management system. | | | | Providing general technical support to Public Works staff with GIS | | and other application specific software. | | | | Assisting with survey and aerial data collection efforts. | | | | Generating and publishing high-quality mapping products, including | | graphics and posters. | | | | Generating engineering drawings, maps, and other related graphics | | using CAD, GIS and desktop publishing software. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | All other duties as assigned. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Must have at least one (1) year of formal GIS and/or civil | | engineering education or comparable work experience. Preference given | | to those with a degree in Geography, GIS, Civil Engineering, or | | related field. | | | | KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES | | | | Knowledge of civil engineering fundamentals, GIS, surveying, | | drafting, and general civil engineering design and | | | |  construction practices. | | | | Working knowledge of ESRI stack of software products (ArcGIS for | | Desktop, ArcGIS for Server, ArcGIS online) | | | |  and understanding of GIS web technology. | | | | Working knowledge of Au oCAD (experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is | | highly desirable). | | | | Ability to operate manual and electronic survey equipment. | | | | Ability to independently apply technical knowledge to practical | | applications and develop innovative solutions with | | | |  minimal supervision. | | | | Ability to read and understand construction engineering plans and | | drawings. | | | | Must pay close attention to detail, communicate effectively orally | | and in writing.
