\ \ Research Technician\ \ Department: 3670020060 Biology\ Job no: 517357\ Employment type: Staff Full Time (Unclassified - Term)\ Location: Manhattan, Kansas\ Worksite: On-site requirement\ Categories: Research / Scientific / Grants\ Pay Grade: 04B\ \ \ About This Role:\ The Division of Biology is looking to hire a full-time Research Technician to work in the laboratory of Dr. Vanessa Ante. This individual will assist in performing laboratory research activities related to infectious disease projects. Responsibilities include assisting culturing cell lines and bacteria, molecular cloning, generating bacteria strains, and purifying proteins. There will also be opportunities to assist in planning and designing assays, conduct experiments, and analyze and present data.   • High School diploma

\ Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Biology or related field
  • Experience in a BSL-2 research laboratory
  • Experience in bacterial and cell culture

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
