Job Description

Provides diagnostic and specialized imaging services for the organization’s advanced OB services. Provides technical support and skill to Perinatologists & Radiologists during advanced imaging studies. Serves as a resource to co-workers in both the Perinatal Ultrasound Department and Medical Imaging, working collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team in advanced OB services. Works collaboratively with the Lead Perinatal Sonographer in mentoring, training and education efforts.

  • Graduate of an accredited or formal ultrasound program.

  • Registered in good standing with the ARDMS or AART.

  • Possess the OB/GYN registry.

  • RVT or VT certified upon hire or must attain the RVT certification within 12 months of hire date

  • 18 months perinatal sonographer experience and recognized at full competencies for required skills at the senior level

  • Good leadership ability, communication skills, flexibility, and strong team player

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and low level of error

  • Must have knowledge of the human development process and ability to work effectively with all patients of all ages

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs to assist and move patients

  • Ability to operate a computer and to input and retrieve data

  • Must maintain BCLS certification as a condition of continued employment.

  • For advancement, must have acquired and demonstrated Ultrasound skillsets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Credentialed in abdomen, breast, and neuro
