Obtaining a Private Pilot certificate (license) requires the individual to complete ground and flight training, have flight experience, obtain a medical certificate, and pass a written exam as well as a demonstration of flying ability. This license is valid until it is surrendered, suspended or revoked; but the pilot must have a current medical certificate.
